Never lose sight of what makes you Glow.

Vitality Skin Care, a personal journey

We’ve all had challenges and looking back now I see how they were hurdles, not roadblocks.

As a single mother of two small boys at 19 years old, and the determination in my heart to give my children a better life, I decided to go to school and became a certified nurses assistant. I worked in the medical field caring for people, which felt natural.

A few years later I decided to advance my medical knowledge and went to school again to become a Medical Assistant. Several years later I watched my mom transition into the esthetic field, which appeared very fulfilling. Seeking to pull the very best out of me, I was determined to find a career I truly enjoyed.

The skin care industry was that! It allowed my creativity and adventure to come out. Eventually, I became an entrepreneur.

That was the birth of Vitality Skin Care!

I worked on my days off from the medical spa, in a quaint little spot in Lake Tapps, where I could make my clients feel at home.

Fast forward 17 years, I’m still here, doing the best I can to make a difference in the lives of my clients, my community, and myself.

I have four boys, who range from 30 to 12 years old and one beautiful daughter-in-law, along with 2 wonderful grandsons ages 2 1/2 yr and 1 yr.

On my days off, I love to spend time in nature, reading great books that inspire and encourage the mind, as well as all things skin care related. I also enjoy coffee and chocolate.

As I continue on this path of personal growth, my goal is to always be authentic, help where I can help, encourage others, and bring joy to someone's day.

Sometimes you lose sight of what makes you glow — I help you see that beauty again.

For example, I work with clients that deal with severe acne. Acne’s something a lot of people go through, not just in our teenage years, but beyond as well. But, for some people, acne can make life hard. They find themselves struggling to look people in the eyes, because they are convinced that, because of their acne, they are being judged as ugly. They project their self-criticism on to those they deal with each and every day. They stop dating, and begin to wall themselves off from the world.

When I work with an acne client, my goal is to help minimize the severity of their acne. I feel like I make a difference in their lives. I can see that they have increased confidence, that they stop listening to that inner voice that always criticizes them.

By taking care of their skin, my acne clients are giving themselves permission to believe in themselves.

That’s what skincare is about, for me: I am not here to reaffirm insane media beauty standards, make people “Instagram famous,” or hide their flaws. I want to work with my clients so that they address their concerns, and find the comfort to love their bodies. When it comes to anti-aging concerns, I understand. We are all aging. My goal is to help people look the best that they can for whatever age they are. Looking great starts on the inside. It’s about having a healthy body, a healthy mind and yes...fabulous skin! There’s no judgment coming from me, if you want to use fillers and Botox to achieve that, then that’s what’s right for you. There are many roads to one destination. Let’s work together and achieve that.

I’m happy to say that I realized several years ago that I was finding the destination on this hard road. I have a steady stream of clients, and they tell me that I have a good touch, that I make them feel relaxed, happy not only with the way their skin looks but also the way their skin feels. I am getting to help people, which fulfills my heart.
